Inside Our ASN 2025 Highlights

Hello there,
The Angiogenesis Foundation was proud to take the stage for not one, but two powerful sessions at this year’s American Society for Nutrition (ASN) conference, spotlighting the science behind nutrition, sustainability, and health outcomes.
What Were the Talks About?

Funding the Future: Foundation Support for Nutrition Research
Dr. Mélanie Guirette, our Science Innovation Lead, joined leaders from Nova Nordisk Foundation, FFAR, and Nutrition in Demand for a panel on how foundations can accelerate nutrition science.
The session offered an opportunity to highlight our growing focus on nutrition and health, alongside ongoing work in science and innovation. Today, that commitment is reflected in our three core pillars:
Food as Medicine
Food and Medicine
Food is Medicine
This panel emphasized the importance of collaborative models that advance nutrition research, raise awareness, and drive public health outcomes.
Regenerative Agriculture and Nutrition: A Micronutrient BreakthroughIn a separate presentation, Dr. Guirette shared early insights on our ongoing collaboration with The Chef’s Garden, a regenerative farm in Ohio. The presentation explored how regenerative agriculture may influence the nutrient composition of vegetables, with a focus on key micronutrients like vitamin C, calcium, and sodium. | ![]() With our friends from The Chef’s Garden |
While full results are still under review, this work adds to the growing body of evidence suggesting that how we grow our food could impact its potential to support health.
Why It Matters
These two sessions highlighted the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to advancing nutrition science and public health through evidence-based research and collaboration.
Real-world nutrition impact: Better nutrient density may support stronger immunity, heart health, and bone strength
Sustainable farming, sustainable health: How we grow our food can shape its nutritional potential
Collaborative progress: Cross-sector partnerships help turn science into meaningful solutions
Stay tuned as we continue to share research and real-world insights at the intersection of nutrition, sustainability, and health.
Best wishes,
- The Angiogenesis Foundation
