2025 Recap: What Shaped the Future of Food, Healing, and Health
Celebrating a Year of Discovery and Impact

Hello there,
As 2025 comes to a close, we’re reflecting on an extraordinary year at the Angiogenesis Foundation—one marked by growth, innovation, and collaboration across science, nutrition, and regenerative health.
At the heart of everything we do is our Food as Medicine initiative—a commitment to exploring how foods and their bioactives can activate the body’s natural health defenses, prevent disease, and even inspire new therapeutic innovations. This year, we’ve seen that vision come to life in remarkable ways.
🌱 Advancing the Food as Medicine Movement
We began the year by launching a new educational series dedicated to Food as Medicine, Food and Medicine, and Food is Medicine—three pillars that define our mission to connect diet, health, and innovation.
From exploring the nutrient richness of leafy greens, berries, and spices to unveiling research on sulforaphane, probiotics, and mushroom-derived compounds, we’ve worked to make the science of healing foods both accessible and actionable.
🍎 Food, Science, and Tradition
We also celebrated the cultural side of food and health. In The Irish Times, Dr. William Li and Dr. Ruth Freeman highlighted how traditional Irish staples like cabbage, carrots, strawberries, and black tea support angiogenesis and regeneration through centuries-old diets rooted in science.
This blend of tradition and innovation is what drives our mission—to show that healing foods aren’t exotic or exclusive; they’re part of everyday life, across cultures and generations.
🩹 Healing Through Innovation

Our Scientific Director, Dr. Vincent Li, represented the Foundation at multiple international forums, including the Symposium on Advanced Wound Care (SAWC). His presentations spotlighted a cutting-edge frontier in regenerative medicine: using 3D-printed grafts made from a patient’s own fat to accelerate wound healing.
By transforming adipose tissue into a living “bio-ink,” this technology shows how the body’s own cells can regenerate blood vessels—an elegant example of angiogenesis in action. These advances are reshaping how we think about personalized medicine and the body’s innate ability to heal.
🌿 Nutrition, Sustainability, and Public Health

This year, the Angiogenesis Foundation took center stage at the two largest nutrition conferences in the United States—the American Society for Nutrition (ASN) 2025 and the Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo (FNCE) 2025—to share our science and vision for the future of food and health.
At ASN 2025, we joined a distinguished panel on Funding the Future to discuss how foundations can accelerate nutrition research. We also presented our ongoing collaboration with The Chef’s Garden, highlighting how regenerative agriculture may influence the micronutrient composition of vegetables and their potential to support human health.
Later in the year at FNCE 2025, we continued the conversation with healthcare professionals, researchers, and dietitians, showcasing how everyday foods can activate the body’s health defense systems—angiogenesis, immunity, regeneration, DNA protection, and the microbiome. We presented additional regenerative agriculture research, revealing how antioxidant capacity can differ not only between vegetables but also across varieties of the same plant, underscoring that the health potential of food begins long before it reaches the plate.
Together, these conferences highlighted our growing commitment to advancing nutrition science, sustainability, and public health through evidence-based research, cross-sector collaboration, and community engagement.
💙 Growing a Movement
Finally, 2025 was also a year of gratitude. Thousands of supporters joined us in funding our Food as Medicine research campaign, helping us launch new studies on identifying the most potent blueberry varieties that may help fight cancer through angiogenesis activation.
Because of your support, we continue to forge a movement where science, food, and healing intersect for the benefit of all.
Looking Ahead to 2026
As we step into the new year, our mission remains clear:
To advance science that empowers people to eat, heal, and live better—through foods that nourish both body and planet.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Together, we are redefining what it means to use Food as Medicine and growing a healthier future, one discovery at a time.
